Clinical Chemistry Fellowship

Overview:

This fellowship provides the fellow with sufficient interpretive, technical and administrative skills to run a laboratory effectively, and helps develop the conceptual background and analytical ability to carry out meaningful research under the supervision of one or more laboratory directors. Phase one consists of rotations through the Toxicology, Endocrinology, Stat and Routine Chemistry Sections, during which close interaction with laboratory directors familiarizes each fellow with the spectrum of analytical capabilities and research opportunities of the William Pepper Laboratory.

Faculty interests include molecular and cellular endocrinology, detoxification of xenobiotics, pharmacokinetics, interaction of radiolabelled drugs with binding proteins, methods for monitoring transplant recipients, development of micro-scale systems for diagnostic assays, diagnostic applications of chemiluminescence and bioluminescence (i.e., ultra-sensitive immunoassays), laboratory utilization, instrument and method evaluation. Modern, well-equipped laboratories create an overall setting conducive to an optimally productive fellowship experience.

Requirements:

Applicants must have completed at least two years of clinical pathology.
